Today the Committee on Language Development and Socio-Political Work of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan together with the  Republican Coordination and Methodological Center of development of languages named after Shayakhmetov in the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a seminar on the theme «Modernization of Public Consciousness: a new Kazakh alphabet and the implementation of the state program».

The   secretary of the Ministry of culture and sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuatzhan Ualiev, spoke with welcoming speech at the opening of seminar.

 The aim of the seminar was to discuss the following issues: Implementation of the State program for the Development and Functioning of Languages for 2011-2020; teaching English and other languages; methodology of standardization and improvement the teaching of the state language; lexical fund systematization; planning for the system of work performed and concretization of their results; theoretical and scientific-practical organization to introduce of the new Kazakh alphabet.

Reports on the activities of the working groups (spelling, methodological, terminological, technical and information support) which were established in four directions under the National Commission were heard in the seminar.

The event was attended by specialists from the Committee on Language Development and Socio-Political Work of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scientists-philologists, representatives of central state and local executive bodies, representatives of the intelligentsia, the media.
