On May 24, 2018, the Committe on development of languages and socio-political work of the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized an international scientific-practical conference "Turkic-Slavic interaction: language, history, culture", dedicated to the Day of Slavic writing and culture.

It should be noted that this is an annual event which held within the framework of implementation of the State program for the development and functioning of languages in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011-2020.

The conference was held at the Russian centre of science and culture in Astana with the participation of scientists, teachers of universities of Kazakhstan and Russia.

In addition, the discussion was attended by teachers of Russian language of Astana, Kokshetau, Shymkent cities, teachers, doctoral students and master's degree students of Astana. 

The conference discussed issues of classical Philology, problems of learning classical languages in modern universities, Turkic-Slavic dialogue of languages and cultures.
