The Italian Center of Enrico Mattei has been opened at the Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Visitors can learn the language of Petrarch and Dante. Special Italian language classes will be opened soon.

Representatives of the local university, the Italian embassy in Kazakhstan and the Italian energy company have signed the corresponding memorandum.

The Italian Cultural Center will be equipped with the necessary literature and technology. It will start its work this fall. In addition to language classes, other joint events will be organized in the center.

In the future, students can get scholarships and go to Italy for Italian language classes.

According to Italian Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Pasquale D’Avino, in addition to learning the Italian language, students of the center will get acquainted with the culture of Italy.

“We will have a week of Italian language, so Italian language experts and opera singers will come to explain particularity of the language of singers and opera,” he added.

Furthermore, as part of the autumn program, the Embassy of Italy in Kazakhstan plans to organize an Italian gastronomic week. As part of this event, Kazakhs will be able to try national dishes of Italy.
