Today a meeting with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Astana about the Latinisation of the Kazakh language, as approved by the presidential decree, took place in the “M. Zholdasbekov” room of the National academic library of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting the director of the Shayakhmetov Republican Coordination and Methodological Center for the Development of Languages Y. Tleshov talked about the implementation sequences and steps, the advantages and disadvantages, the history and the significance of the Latin alphabet. The meeting was held in an open dialogue format. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Head of Mission Nora Dessing and economic policy officer Medgat Olzhayev, and attaché Aira IJsenbrand asked her questions about the alphabet and received concrete answers.
