Nazarbayev: To take posts in the state service one must speak the state language
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has advised to read more to study the state language.
"When I returned to Kazakhstan the Socialists of Kazakhstan told me to read in Kazakh. It was hard, I was reading and reading, and I started speaking. Everything depends on the tune of people, on stimulus," he said in the TV interview on Monday.
He said in Soviet time when he returned to Kazakhstan after studying in Ukraine it was hard for him to speak Kazakh, but he managed to overcome this barrier with the help of aspiration.
In his words, now among the stimulus for Kazakhstani people is state service.
"To take posts in the state service one must speak the state language, but we have not only the state service, but also different professions which require the knowledge of the language," he added.
He said knowledge of the state language by all the ethnic groups of Kazakhstan will stabilize the society.
"You cannot work in Moscow without speaking Russian, can you? If you come to Germany but do not speak German? When you speak the language you get closer in all the interests, or the US- is the state of migrants. People from all over the world came there. The English language unites them as one nation. I aspire to this role, the Latin graphics is not the target, it is the state language. The task is to create identity of multi-ethnic people of our state," he concluded.
