Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev, Akorda reports. During the meeting the head of state was informed about the implementation of the objectives set out in the framework of the Address "New Possibilities of Development in the conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution".

The President noted the need to continue work on innovation and new technologies, as well as use in the process of creative potential of the participants of the project "100 new persons of Kazakhstan." Also, the President of Kazakhstan dwelled on the issue of the transition of the Kazakh language to the Latin schedule and stressed the importance of taking measures to enhance the status of the official language.

"The process of transition to the Latin alphabet is historically important for our people, but it is necessary to continue the work to improve the status of the Kazakh language. The activities of the Parliament and the Government should be carried out only in the official language, at the same time citizens' rights in this matter should not be infringed. For them the possibility of simultaneous interpretation should be provided," the head of state said.

The President of Kazakhstan, noting the importance of a phased transition to the Latin schedule, instructed to carefully study the issue of improving the methods of teaching the Kazakh language.

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev focused on issues of ensuring cybersecurity and increasing the competitiveness of the domestic media.

The head of state pointed to the need to improve the quality of serial production of domestic TV channels and also stressed the important role of the mass media in the patriotic education of youth. During the meeting, Dauren Abayev reported to the President of Kazakhstan on the plans for the implementation of the Digital Kazakhstan program and provided information on measures to clarify its priority areas.

“We continue the work om the implementation of the state program Digital Kazakhstan. In general, the program provides 120 joint measures, 20 of which will be completed this year," said the Minister of Information and Communications.

Also, Abayev informed Nursultan Nazarbayev about the plans of the international technology park Astana Hub, created on the basis of the infrastructure of the exhibition complex Astana EXPO-2017. At the end of the meeting, the head of state gave a number of specific instructions.
