- According to the results of the annual survey, in 2017 the share of the population who speaks the state language was 83.1%. The share of the adult population, who speaks three languages, was 22.3%.

In accordance with the instructions of the Oblast Akim B.Zh. Bakauov, given at the enlarged meeting on 4 December 2017, the Department for the Development of the Languages of the Pavlodar Oblast on March 13, 2018, held a seminar-conference on the topic “About the Phased Change-Over of Children’s Preschool Institutions to the State Language of Education” with the participation of the Deputy Oblast Akim M.M. Begentayev.

On March 5 this year, courses for all categories of citizens of the Oblast began. The lectures on “Linguistics and the Latin alphabet” were held at the courses. During the lectures, the questions of phased transition of the Kazakh alphabet into Latin script, initiated in “View to the Future: Modernization of Public Consciousness” program article of the Head of State N.A. Nazarbayev, were announced.
